  • The Jona Dance workshop is a 1.5 -2 hour contemporary dance workshop, often rooted in Cunningham Technique with elements of West African and release technique styles.

    Externally we facilitate company classes, professional class and sessions for youth and student programs which include creative sessions. Our Contemporary class is inspired by Cunningham Technique, infused with a groove and connecting to rhythm through music and flow. Sharp shifts of weight layered with dynamics and soul are used to awaken the interconnectivity of the body and our love for movement.

    We currently offer contemporary technique workshops and classes for English National Ballet School, Rambert School, London contemporary Dance School, National Youth Ballet, Artistry Youth Dance, Laban CAT and many more.

  • We offer Movement direction services for TV, film and music videos. We have worked with dancers, actors and models across the industry.

  • We at Jona Dance welcome commissions for new projects, ranging from live performances to music collaborations, art gallery performances and concept videos as well.

    We create work for Youth Dance groups aged 11+, BA(Hons) level graduate pieces, and Professional company commissions both in the UK and abroad. We work across live theatre, on stage, site specific and digital commissions. Organisations we've worked with include Ballet Black, Serendipity Institute, The Leicester Curve, London fashion week and The Royal Opera House to name a few.

    Artistic Director Monique Jonas is available for short term rehearsal directing opportunities both in the UK and abroad.

JONA DANCE is a project-led Dance company based in London, providing dance services across the industry, connecting a diverse network of creatives in the classical and contemporary fields. As a movement based organisation, we work with people in multiple different forms across the industry, to ensure that dance, and contemporary dance in particular, is accessible to as many people as possible.
